Itinerary & tour details

Highlights: The Palace Museum, Jingshan Park, private airport and railway station transfers, and a full-time English-speaking tour guide.

Begin your China adventure in Beijing with a convenient private pick-up from your hotel, airport, or railway station within the designated service areas. After meeting your English-speaking tour guide, head to the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, the former imperial residence of Chinese emperors for nearly five centuries. Explore its magnificent palace halls, traditional courtyards, ornate gateways, and impressive imperial architecture while learning about the history, culture, and daily life of China's royal families.

After visiting the Palace Museum, continue to Jingshan Park, located just north of the Forbidden City. Take a leisurely walk through the park and climb to the hilltop pavilion for a panoramic view of the palace complex and Beijing's historic cityscape, weather and visibility permitting. This is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the traditional layout of the old imperial capital and capture memorable photographs.

Meals are not included, and your guide or driver can recommend local restaurants based on your preferences. After sightseeing, transfer to your chosen hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening. Airport and railway station pick-up and drop-off services are available according to the agreed itinerary and designated service areas.

Highlights: Mutianyu Great Wall, Water Cube Swimming Hall, scenic mountain views, and a full-time English-speaking tour guide.

After breakfast, depart for the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, one of Beijing's most scenic and well-preserved stretches of this iconic landmark. Surrounded by rolling mountains and lush forests, Mutianyu offers an impressive combination of ancient military architecture and beautiful natural scenery. Walk along the restored ramparts, explore the watchtowers, and enjoy spectacular views of the wall winding across the mountain ridges.

Depending on your preferences, physical condition, and available services, you may choose to take a cable car or chairlift to make the ascent more comfortable. Allow sufficient time for walking, photography, and enjoying the atmosphere of this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage landmark.

Return to Beijing in the afternoon and visit the Beijing Olympic Park area. See the exterior of the National Aquatics Center, popularly known as the Water Cube, which was built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Admire its distinctive bubble-inspired architectural design and learn about the transformation of the Olympic venues into modern urban landmarks. Entry to the swimming facilities is subject to opening hours, ticket availability, and venue access policies.

Lunch and dinner are not included. Your guide or driver can recommend suitable restaurants along the route. After the day's excursions, return to your chosen hotel for an evening at leisure.

Highlights: Summer Palace, Yuanmingyuan Park, imperial gardens, lakeside scenery, and a full-time English-speaking tour guide.

Begin the day at the Summer Palace, one of China's most celebrated imperial garden complexes. Stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, traditional pavilions, covered corridors, and lakeside pathways while discovering how the imperial family used this retreat for relaxation and ceremonial activities. Enjoy views of Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, and appreciate the harmony between traditional Chinese architecture and the surrounding natural landscape.

Continue to Yuanmingyuan Park, also known as the Old Summer Palace. Once an extensive imperial garden celebrated for its elaborate landscapes and architectural styles, the site now preserves important historical ruins and expansive green spaces. Explore the remains of the Western-style palaces, learn about the site's historical significance, and reflect on the events that shaped modern Chinese history.

The two gardens offer contrasting perspectives on imperial Beijing: the Summer Palace showcases a largely preserved landscape garden, while Yuanmingyuan provides insight into the grandeur and historical transformation of a former imperial retreat. Your guide will help connect the sites through stories of royal life, garden design, and China's cultural heritage.

Admission tickets for the Summer Palace and Yuanmingyuan Park are included as specified in the original itinerary. Lunch and dinner are not included, and restaurant recommendations can be provided by your guide or driver. Return to your chosen hotel after sightseeing and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace.

Highlights: Longmen Grottoes, White Horse Temple, Buddhist heritage, and private airport and railway station transfers.

Travel to Luoyang, one of China's historic ancient capitals, and begin exploring the city's remarkable cultural heritage. Visit the Longmen Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring thousands of Buddhist statues, carved images, and inscriptions created in limestone cliffs along the Yi River. Walk through the grotto area to admire the intricate craftsmanship, monumental Buddha figures, and artistic achievements that developed over several centuries.

Continue to White Horse Temple, traditionally regarded as the first officially established Buddhist temple in China. Explore its temple halls, courtyards, statues, and peaceful grounds while learning about the introduction and development of Buddhism in China. The temple offers a quieter atmosphere and a different perspective on the country's religious and architectural traditions.

The day's sightseeing combines monumental rock-cut Buddhist art with the living traditions of an important religious site. Your English-speaking guide will provide historical context and help you appreciate the cultural connections between the two attractions.

After the visits, transfer to your chosen hotel and enjoy some free time. Private airport and railway station pick-up and drop-off services are available according to the confirmed transport arrangements. Meals are not included unless otherwise specified, and your guide or driver can recommend local restaurants featuring Luoyang specialties.

Highlights: High-speed rail travel, Terracotta Warriors, Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, Huaqing Palace, and an accompanying tour guide.

Travel by high-speed train to Xi'an, the historic capital of Shaanxi Province and an important starting point of the ancient Silk Road. Upon arrival, meet your guide and continue to the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, home to the world-famous Terracotta Army. Discover the life-sized clay warriors, horses, and chariots created to accompany China's first emperor into the afterlife. Explore the exhibition areas and learn how the archaeological discoveries have revealed new insights into the Qin Dynasty, ancient military organization, sculpture, and imperial burial practices.

Continue to Huaqing Palace, a historic complex at the foot of Mount Li known for its hot springs, landscaped gardens, and connections to imperial history. Walk through the palace grounds, view the traditional architecture, and learn about the stories associated with Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei during the Tang Dynasty. The site also offers historical context relating to more recent events in modern Chinese history.

Depending on train schedules, traffic, and the actual arrival time in Xi'an, the order or duration of the visits may need to be adjusted. Allow sufficient time for the train journey and transfers between the railway station and attractions.

After sightseeing, transfer to your chosen hotel in Xi'an. Your guide will accompany you throughout the journey as specified in the original arrangement. Meals and train tickets should be confirmed according to the final booking details.

Learn about the development of ancient Chinese civilization and the important role played by Shaanxi during the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties. The museum provides valuable background for understanding the historical sites visited throughout your journey.

Continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of Xi'an's most recognizable landmarks and an important symbol of Buddhist culture. Built during the Tang Dynasty, the pagoda is closely associated with the Buddhist monk Xuanzang and his efforts to bring Buddhist scriptures from India to China. Explore the surrounding temple complex and discover how Xi'an became a major center for religion, scholarship, and international cultural exchange.

After the guided visits, enjoy free time to explore nearby Tang-themed cultural attractions and pedestrian areas, depending on your interests and available time.
