A Day Where Nature Felt Like a Movie Scene in Chongqing
During our China trip, my friends and I spent an unforgettable day exploring the natural beauty of Wulong. From the peaceful grasslands of Fairy Mountain to the incredible cliffs of Three Natural Bridges, every moment felt special. The fresh air, amazing views, and funny memories with my friends made this one of my favorite travel experiences in China.
When my friends and I planned our China trip, we knew we didn’t want to spend the whole time only exploring busy cities. Of course, we loved the energy of places like Chongqing, but we also wanted to find somewhere quieter, where we could slow down and just enjoy the view.
That’s how we ended up visiting Wulong, and honestly, it became one of the biggest surprises of our trip.
After leaving the city, everything started to change. The roads became quieter, the air felt cooler, and the views outside the window slowly turned into mountains and endless green fields. The moment we arrived at Fairy Mountain, everyone suddenly became much quieter because we were too busy looking around.
My friend, who normally needs three alarms to wake up when we travel, was somehow the first person ready that morning. We couldn’t believe it. He kept saying, “Guys, hurry up, we’re going to miss the view.” Of course, we spent the rest of the day making fun of herbecause this was definitely the first time he was more excited about waking up early than sleeping.
Walking around Fairy Mountain was such a relaxing experience. We didn’t have a strict schedule, so we just walked, talked, and took way too many photos. At one point, we realized we had spent almost twenty minutes taking pictures of the same field from different angles. We laughed and said, “Maybe we are the problem, not the camera.”

The best part was simply being away from the noise of the city. Sitting on the grass, feeling the mountain breeze, and chatting with friends about random things made the whole day feel special. Sometimes the best travel moments are not the ones you plan.
The biggest highlight was definitely Wulong Three Natural Bridges. Before coming here, I had seen many photos online, but honestly, they didn’t prepare me for how huge it actually was. Standing under those massive natural stone arches made us feel so small. The cliffs, waterfalls, and ancient looking landscapes around us felt like we had walked into a real-life movie scene.
We kept stopping every few minutes because someone always found another place to take a photo. At first, we said, “Let’s just stay for one hour.” Somehow, that one hour became almost the whole afternoon.
The funniest moment happened when we tried to take a group photo. Everyone wanted to look good, so we kept changing positions. Someone’s hair looked weird, someone blinked, someone said the angle was bad. After taking around ten photos, we finally checked the first one and realized it was actually the best. We still laugh about how much time we wasted.
Another thing I remember was the walk itself. We were all tired by the end because there were so many steps, but nobody really complained. We were too busy talking, joking, and sharing snacks along the way. Those small moments with friends ended up becoming some of my favorite memories.
What I loved most about Wulong was that it showed me another side of China travel. Before this trip, I mostly imagined China as huge cities, skyscrapers, and busy streets. But places like Wulong showed me a quieter side with incredible nature, fresh air, and landscapes that you don’t see every day.
If you love natural landscapes, adventure, and places that make you stop for a moment and think, “Wow, this is actually real,” then Wulong is definitely worth adding to your China itinerary.
