Traveling with my friends made every moment more fun, especially the random food stops and endless photo challenges. A Journey Through Rice Terraces and Rivers
This four day trip to Guilin and Longsheng with my cousin Emma covered the lively Dongxi Lane, the spectacular Longji Rice Terraces in both the Yao and Zhuang villages, the colorful Reed Flute Cave, a Li River cruise past the karst mountains, the bustling West Street in Yangshuo, and the ancient fan making town of Fuli. Our guide Liu Wei, who grew up near the terraces, shared fascinating stories about local farming traditions and ethnic cultures. We tried painting our own fans, tasted local rice wine, and took way too many photos of the stunning scenery. Emma loved the river cruise the most, while I couldn't get enough of the caves. We both agreed that autumn would be worth another visit to see the terraces turn golden.
Three Days of Sky, Sand, and Fire
This three day trip to Inner Mongolia with a college friend covered volcanoes, grasslands, temples, and a desert. We started with lamb cuddles and a volcanic crater climb, spent a starry night in a yurt on the prairie, visited a striking red cliff and a peaceful temple, then ended with an exciting desert adventure of sand sliding and camel riding. Every landscape felt completely different, and the wide open spaces left us both awed and joyful.

This six day trip from Guangzhou to Guizhou with my best friend Lily covered the busy Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, the Gothic Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Guangdong Museum with its folk art exhibits, the Canton Tower, a Pearl River night cruise, Qianling Mountain Park with its monkeys, the scenic Jiaxiu Pavilion, the spectacular Huangguoshu Waterfall, the karst cave of Loong Palace, and the ancient stone town of Qingyan. I loved the natural landscapes and traditional culture the most, from caves to old towns to local crafts.
A Cold Week in Harbin
This four day winter trip to Harbin with my husband and ten year old son Ethan covered the Siberian Tiger Park, the Polarland with beluga whales and penguins, a cable car ride over the frozen Songhua River, Sun Island with its snowy paths and ice sculptures, the European style Zhong Yang Street, the Harbin Grand Theater, and the Russian style Volga Manor estate. The cold was intense, but our warm hearted guide Ms. Liu made everything easier, especially with her thoughtful care for our son, who received a plush tiger souvenir and never stopped smiling. We ate dumplings, tried candied hawthorn, and watched people sledding on the frozen river. It was a memorable family adventure filled with snow, animals, and laughter.
Five Friends Discover the Timeless Beauty of Northern China
This seven day trip from Jinan to Shanxi with my cousin Sofie covered the clear spring pools of Baotu Spring, the calm waters of Daming Lake, the ancient Buddha carvings in Ten Thousand Buddha Cave, the peaceful Wulongtan Park, the historic Jinci Temple complex, the massive Mengshan Grand Buddha, and the well preserved Pingyao Ancient City. I loved the blend of water scenery and ancient architecture the most.
My Beijing Family Trip
Our family trip to Beijing was an unforgettable blend of history, culture, and family fun. We explored the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and other iconic landmarks with an excellent English-speaking guide. Our son loved seeing the giant pandas at Beijing Zoo, while we enjoyed authentic local cuisine and beautiful scenery. It was a memorable journey filled with amazing experiences.

This five day trip to Xi'an and Luoyang with my college roommate Alex covered the Terracotta Warriors at Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum, the Ancient City Wall and Muslim Quarter in Xi'an, the Shaolin Temple and Songyang Temple Pagoda near Luoyang, and the Longmen Grottoes with their thousands of Buddha carvings. I loved the ancient history and the craftsmanship behind all these sites.
A Week on the Grasslands
This five day trip to the Hulunbuir grassland with my husband covered the winding Mergel River, the deer filled Erguna Wetland Park, the quiet White Birch Forest, horseback riding at Black Mountain Head, and grass sliding at the 186 Ribbon River. We visited the giant Matryoshka dolls in Manzhouli, tried traditional Mongolian clothing and archery at the Balhu Tribe village, and spent a night in a cozy yurt under a sky full of stars. The most memorable part was the roasted whole lamb and fresh dairy products prepared by a local family, which were absolutely delicious. Our guide Mr. Bat, a local Mongolian, was warm and knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel authentic and personal. Despite sore legs from all the horse riding, we came home with nothing but wonderful memories.
A Week in the Northwest
This six day trip through Ningxia and Gansu with my wife covered ancient royal tombs, a movie studio backlot, thousand year old mountain carvings, a grassland bonfire, a desert by the Yellow River, and a stone forest of wind carved pillars. We tried sand sliding and a river zip line, ate a lot of lamb and noodles, and spent most of the time laughing at our own clumsy moments.
My Chinese Dream Tour
This was an unforgettable summer trip across southern China with my cousin. We explored the mountain cities of Chongqing and Zhangjiajie, cruised the stunning Li River in Guilin, and finished with the futuristic skyline of Shanghai. Every day was packed with amazing views, from natural wonders like the Three Natural Bridges to the bright city lights of the Bund.

I had an amazing time exploring Shanghai with my family. From the historic Yu Garden to the futuristic skyline of Lujiazui, the city perfectly blends tradition and modern life. We loved visiting Shanghai Disneyland, taking a relaxing boat ride in Zhujiajiao Water Town, and enjoying the stunning night views along the Bund. A Trip to Zhangjiajie with My Brother
This five day trip to Zhangjiajie with my younger brother covered stone pillars, a mountain cave, a limestone cave, a waterfall town, and a glass bridge. We took the Bailong Elevator, saw the Avatar inspired peak, climbed to Tianmen Cave, explored Huanglong Cave, walked around Furong Town, and crossed the Grand Canyon glass bridge. The views were impressive and we had fun with small arguments and silly moments along the way.
Granite Peaks and Autumn Colors
This four day trip to Huangshan with my college roommate Bruce covered the colorful Huangling Village with its autumn drying displays, the granite peaks and pine trees of Huangshan Scenic Area, the steep trails of the Xihai Grand Canyon, a sunrise viewing from the mountain top, and the quiet pondside village of Hongcun. We loved the hiking and the mountain views the most.
A Family Trip to the Land of Pandas and Crystal Lakes
